Olivia Askew

Olivia Askew was raised in nearby Yorktown, Virginia. Her passion for the natural environment grew out of weekends spent on the Poquoson River, bike rides through the National Park, and exploring the green space behind her house as a young child. After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Architecture with a degree in Urban and Environmental Planning and a concentration in Sustainability, Olivia worked as a City Planner and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in the Atlanta-metro area. She happily returned home to the Hampton Roads area to work as a city planner for the City of Hampton, then transitioned to her current role as a Resiliency Officer, working with the Resilient Hampton Initiative. She is responsible for overseeing many different facets of the Resilient Hampton Initiative, including planning and policy implementation and project management.
