Laura Costadone

Dr. Laura Costadone is an Assistant Research Professor at Old Dominion University’s Institute for Coastal Adaptation and Resilience. She holds a Ph.D. in Earth, Environment, and Society from Portland State University and brings over eight years of experience in urban ecology, ecosystem services, and climate resilience. Her research focuses on quantifying the co-benefits of Nature-Based Solutions —from flood mitigation and carbon sequestration to urban cooling and biodiversity enhancement. Integrating environmental data science with community engagement, Dr. Costadone develops tools and frameworks that bridge science and policy to advance sustainable, resilient coastal and urban systems.
